Hydraulic test refers to a pressure test conducted on pressure vessels such as glass lined reactor using liquid media. Generally speaking, the precautions for hydraulic tests are divided into seven points. Which seven points are they? Let’s take a look together。
1、Generally, clean water should be used for testing.
When testing stainless steel containers with water, measures should be taken to prevent fluoride ion corrosion. Generally, the chloride ion content in water is limited to no more than 25X10-6.
When using petroleum distillation products for hydraulic testing, the test temperature should be lower than the flash point of petroleum products.
2、When using petroleum distillation products for hydraulic testing, the test temperature should be lower than the flash point of petroleum products.
3、The test temperature should be lower than the boiling point of the liquid and higher than the brittle transition temperature of the material, with specific values specified in the design drawings.

4、During the hydraulic test of carbon steel 16MnR steel pressure vessels, the liquid temperature shall not be lower than 5 ° C. When conducting hydraulic tests on other low alloy steel containers (excluding low-temperature containers). the liquid temperature shall not be lower than 15C.
If the brittle transition temperature of the material increases due to factors such as plate thickness, the temperature of the test liquid medium should also be correspondingly increased.
The hydraulic test temperature of pressure vessels such as glass lined reaction vessels manufactured from other steel grades shall be as specified in the drawings.
5、Before the pressure test, the fastening bolts of each part must be fully equipped. During the test, two pressure gauges should be installed. At the same time, comprehensive inspections should be conducted on safety protection measures and test preparation work.
Before boosting, the outer surface of the container should also be kept dry for inspection.
6、During the pressure test, if abnormal sounds, pressure drops, paint peeling, or failure of the pressurization device are found, the test should be stopped immediately. After identifying the cause and taking corresponding measures, the test can continue.
7、For newly manufactured pressure vessels such as glass lined reactor, after the pressure test, the test liquid should be promptly drained and the inner surface of the vessel should be blown dry with compressed air or other inert gas.
